How to control PTZ Camera with external keyboard via RS232 port from gwsecu.com

How to control PTZ Camera with external keyboard via RS232 port from gwsecu.com

As we all know, the keyboard only output control signal from  ’RS485’ port ,so we have to connect it into COM port for controlling.

Normally situation, we use Keyboard to control analog PTZ camera.

Actually we can plug the Keyboard into RS232 (9 pins) ports via RS485-232 Converter.
SET all parameters in Keyboard, COM Setting of Software’s local set & Camera’s setting.
"COM setting" contain "Address, baud rate,....." in keyboard, software and camera, they are the same.

PTZ protocol : Pelco-D (default). in Keyboard setting and Camera’s setting, it’s same.
Finally, Focus the monitoring window by mouse and control PTZ camera in this window via keyboard.

It means the keyboard only control one channel PTZ camera which is focused on at one time.
The camera number is relative with the adding setting.

How to control PTZ dome camera via CMS software

How to control PTZ dome camera via CMS software

Step 1:

Run CMS software and Add PTZ Dome camera into as Admin account.

Step 2:

Back to Monitoring window and right-click “windows1” ---- “Login”---- “Connect image”

Step 3:

Open PTZ Panel, Click “Pan/titl/zoom” for checking whether Dome is controlled .

Step 4:

If still can not , examine the “DVS setting” ,Make sure all “COM Settings” are same as the definition of DIP switch in Dome’s borad.(it shows Default parameters in the camera model’s usermanual)

Step 5:

Click the left button of “Preset” and we can call Dome preset then.Input the menu preset ,eg.95,8 if supports,it pops up Menu OSD like control by PTZ keyboard, next we use the right/left button of “Focus”/”Iris” to move Array and confirm the operation.

Step 6:

Click the right button of “Preset” and we can set the specific presets for Dome.
After added many preset positions already into Dome camera, we can call them one by one as one Tour (the same as Tour function in Dome Menu)

Step 7:

Click the left button of “Preset”   and it pops up the “RECALL “window.

Step 8:

Choose “TRACK” and select “1” , then ADD all preset positions into and define the stay time
At last , click Recall , then PTZ Dome will poll all presets in sequence as “stay time”

School Network Video Surveillance Solutions

According to the features of requirement of schools, Guowei Security Cameras has made use of the rich network resource of schools and designed a network digital video surveillance system with advanced technology for the schools.

This system considers the NVS as front end equipment, makes use the existing information of audio and video of school for transmit high quality by network, builds up the distributed, lower-cost ,digital video surveillance system. It can realize to surveillance the classroom building, students dorms, libraries and laboratory rooms from a long distance which can protect the lives of teachers and students, improve the quality of teaching, control and mange the examination room effetely with the result of reducing the behavior of fraud.

IP Cameras or NVS are considered as the front end equipments ,making use of makes use the existing information of audio and video of school for transmit high quality by network, builds up the distributed, cost-effective, digital video surveillance system. It can realize to surveillance the classroom building, students dorms, libraries and laboratory rooms from a long distance which can protect the lives of teachers and students, in addition, improve the quality of teaching, control and manage the examination room effetely with the result of reducing the behavior of fraud.

It also can realize to video surveillance real time from a long distance aiming to the gate of factory, office building, around walls, warehouse , production dept, staffs or others. So it can satisfy the surveillance requirement by guard keeper dept, manage dept and leaders of enterprise and so on for the safe of factory, operation activity of production, cases of work or others .

Why said IP Camera is superior to the CCTV Camera

Why said IP Camera is superior to the CCTV Camera

In most cases, when pepole are thinking about installing a new video surveillance system, then they have to decide between an IP Camera System or CCTV Camera System. We can solve your troubles get by this article to provide some information and perspective that will help you in making the right choice.

Firstly, you must know in detail what they are and what is the difference between them.

1. What is an IP video security system?

Cameras on an modern IP security system, which has a built-in web server, a network interface (Ethernet or Wi-Fi) and can be directly connected to a LAN/WAN/Internet network. Most IP cameras offer motion detection, sending of e-mails, modem support, connection of external sensors, etc. To access an IP camera, software (usually comes with an IP camera) must be installed on the PC or users can access an IP camera via a standard browser. An IP camera can be configured to provide access to the video stream for all network users or only for authorized ones.

2. What is an analog video security system?

Cameras on an modern analog CCTV system send their video in the traditional base band format over coax or UTP cabling back to a digital video recorder (DVR). Here, video is digitized and stored on hard drives. Most modern DVRs are a network device, and as such can be accessed remotely from the LAN, or with the proper configuration, from across a WAN or the internet. There are no tapes to change. Video is kept on hard drives, typically on a FIFO basis so there is always a rolling video archive of the past X days. So, despite the fact that video is being transmitted from the cameras in an analog format, live and recorded video is still available over the network.

3. What is the difference between IP cameras and analog cameras?

The main difference between an IP camera and an analog camera is that an IP camera has a built-in encoder, which converts the image sensor signal into a digital stream. An analog camera transfers the image sensor signal directly to the camera’s output.

Afterwards, you should analyze their own advantages.

1. cost-effective

For now, installing analog cameras coupled with DVRs is still the most cost-effective approach for most security applications. However, the cost of IP cameras and components is rapidly declining. Reduced system cost and added functionality due to general-purpose IP networking equipment infrastructure. Additions, one IP megapixel camera covers more area than an analog camera. In this way, making IP systems more and more affordable and desirable.

2. better quality

As we know, there are poor quality components and good quality components no matter which type of system. That being said, IP cameras do offer some technological advances in the areas of video quality and wireless installations. While analog cameras cannot provide resolution above TV standards, the maximum being about 0.4 megapixel. Resolution of IP cameras can be many times higher (currently up to 5 megapixel) and they can capture a clearer image when objects are moving, so your image will be much clearer with an IP camera. In adition, wireless communication over IP networks has fewer problems with interference, and encryption security is built into the technology.
This round, IP Cameras wins again.

3. lighting

IP cameras excel in capturing high definition, megapixel images but have trouble with low lighting conditions. On the contrary, CCTV CCD cameras perform well across a variety of lighting conditions and manage motion well.

To sum up, whether ip camera or analog camera has its own merits. But in generally speaking, an ip camera has more advantages than an cctv camera.
